PROBUS Outdoors Club – snowshoeing @ Stepping Stones

Cathy Rennie will be our guide on Thursday, Feb. 24th. We will be exploring a “new to the group” trail in the Stepping Stones trail system. Cathy says this trail will take us along the river which will be lovely as some of us have paddled this section of the river. The trail has a bit more up and down that the previous trails we have been on in the Stepping Stones trail system. Hiking poles/walking sticks are always suggested. With Wednesday’s forecast of rain or snow snowshoes most likely will be required, or some type of cleats on your boots. The route that Cathy has planned is between 2.5 km and 3 km. Hope this helps.
Directions:
Park at the end of Stepping Stones Lane.
East on Hwy #17 to the second Centennial Cres. turn off.
Once on Centennial continue to MacPherson Drive. Turn right onto Macpherson Drive , drive past the Stepping Stones boat launch. Turn onto Stepping Stones Lane. Drive to the end of the lane and park. We will start our hike/snowshoe there.

We start at 10:00 a.m. Plan to bring your chair and thermos for after. We can gather at the Stepping Stones boat launch after our outing.
