The PROBUS Club of North Bay & District meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month, starting at 10:00am, at the Shrine Club.
At the Dec. 6 meeting our speaker will be Tom Richarson, who has recently been highlighted in the media for his (almost single-handedly) renovations of the local Sons of Jacob Synagogue, a North Bay Heritage site and the oldest synagogue north of Toronto that is still used.
He will speak on how he started with a GoFundMe campaign and arranged for painting, lighting and other improvements. He did a lot of the work himself and you can check out the results by driving past McIntyre West and Cassells.
